Role of HSCL
The role of the Home School Community Liaison Coordinator is to work in partnership with parents and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our students in our school community.
Parental engagement (through home visits, school meetings, phone calls, coffee mornings) focus on student attendance, participation, retention and wellbeing – this is the corner stone of the work of a HSCL
At Thomond we strive for active communication between home, school and relevant community agencies to support and empower guardians with their child’s education and wellbeing
Various activities, workshops, talks and Coffee Mornings are run throughout the year for our parents’. These include Arts and Crafts Classes, Drug Awarness Workshops, CAO Applications Process, Transitioning to Secondary School.
HSCL coordinates Adult Education and parents classes in the school
HSCL is the teacher representation on the Parents Council
