At Thomond Community College, we proudly run the DreamSpace Ambassadors Programme, a Microsoft initiative that empowers our Transition Year (TY) students with valuable digital skills and leadership opportunities.
Each year, approximately 10 enthusiastic TY students take on the role of DreamSpace Ambassadors, gaining hands-on experience with Micro: bit, Minecraft Education, and Online Safety. Through this programme, they develop their technical expertise while building confidence in mentoring, teaching, and teamwork.
Our Ambassadors play a key role in supporting first-year Coding Classes, helping younger students engagely explore technology. They also lead Online Safety Campaigns, promoting responsible digital citizenship and raising awareness among their peers. Additionally, they assist eager teachers in integrating these digital tools into their lessons.
This initiative has been running successfully at our school for several years, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and digital responsibility. We are delighted to see our TY students embrace this opportunity to learn, lead, and inspire others.
